My complete Collection of Harley Davison Documents (over 50) is being offered for less than 2 documents alone are listed for in Sanders Autogragh Price Guide. Most are on H.D. colored stationary, dated in the early 1930's. There is no other collection like this anywhere. We turned down an $8500 offer at a local auction. The Harley Davison museum was only interested in 20 or so documents to help complete their collection. .Spoke with Jay Leno about this collection, but he would prefer the actual 1930's Motorcycle. I am cleaning out my paper, drawings and print collection. I have been collecting for over 35 years. One of my 1st was with Joe Davidson, the cigar Label King. A few years ago I started with Harley Davidson signatures, and Louis Mushro, a well known autograph dealer contacted me with an offer to purchase the remainder of his collection. Marc Patric, curator of the National Automotive Museum, representing the National Automotive Museum at the Detroit Library, had just purchased a collection of internal documents pertaining to Harley Davidson Operations, sales, advertising, etc. Louis Mushro knew that my collection added to these documents new ones would make mine better than the Detroit Auto Museum. |
